Romerias in Velez Malaga

Another very important festivals are the "Romerí­as", in Vélez. There are two: the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios and the Cabrillas romery. It's celebrated in May depending on the date of El Rocí­o. Before this two virgins were united in romerí­a, but for 4 years they were separated. The virgins go by a cart of tame bulls. Lots of horses go with them and open the road. People wear the typical costumes of the town: Traje campero and flamenca dress.
